THE Nadi Aviators team are fully prepared to face giants PNG in the upcoming Champion vs Champion series that will be held in Suva.
The Champion vs Champion match will be hosted by Fiji where the Nadi Zone representative will play against the PNG side after they won the Inter Zone Championship this year.
Nadi Aviators head coach Tawake Vela said, the team's preparation had been going on well and they were more focused on the game against PNG.
"We are undergoing a program that was designed for the players for their weekly training and this includes weights, power and strength just to name a few," said Tawake.
"Now the team will be participating in a nines tournament and this is to help with the fitness level and their skills. This is just something to keep them occupied during this festive season," said Tawake.
The Nadi Aviators knows what PNG players are capable of when it comes to rugby league.
"We know PNG is a very good team they're fast and talented but that will not stop us from doing what we love and achieving our aim and we will try to do our best since we have the support from the community," said Tawake.
Nadi Aviators captain Utoniika Junior said, the team would be expecting a tough match against PNG.
"We are expecting a tough and physical match against PNG we know they are a strong team since rugby league is their national sport.
"Last year Sabeto Roosters played against PNG and it was a tough match to watch so next year we will work hard since we will be playing on our home ground.
"We have been getting good support from the community and our sponsors as well so in a way it has motivated the team to do our best and work hard," said Utoniika.
"We know our supporters have high expectations so we will need to work hard in order to achieve our target and that is to win,"
The Champion vs Champion will be held in at the ANZ stadium in Suva on February 17 next year.
